Back to School, Backpack by Backpack

There's nothing like the excitement of a new school year, and this year, our Everwise team got to be part of it in a hands-on way. Over two weeks, five branch teams came together for Pack a Backpack events, filling 125 backpacks per school with the supplies kids need to start the year ready to learn. In total, we reached more than 600 children across five schools in our communities.

Here's where the backpacks went:

  • Plymouth West — Jefferson Elementary School, Plymouth
  • Meridian — James Whitcomb Riley School, Indianapolis
  • Whiting — Washington Irving Elementary School, Hammond 
  • Corporate — Lincoln Elementary School, South Bend
  • County Road 6 — Mary Daly Elementary School, Elkhart

To us, this is what community banking looks likeshowing up for the neighborhoods we serve, not just with financial products, but with our time. Thank you to everyone who packed a backpack, and to the schools and families who let us be part of your back-to-school season.
