On October 12, more than 650 Everwise Credit Union employees rolled up their sleeves to volunteer in communities across Indiana, southwest Michigan and the Chicagoland area during Everwise's annual Day of Giving.
Employees volunteered with more than 40 nonprofit organizations, taking on projects like painting, landscaping, organizing donations, stocking food pantries, preparing care packages and more, all in support of stronger communities.
The event marked the seventh companywide Day of Giving since 2018. More than 50 Everwise branches, corporate offices and support locations were closed, allowing employees to dedicate a full day to serving others.
"At Everwise, we take pride in making a genuine difference in the lives of people across the communities we serve," said Jason M. Osterhage, President and CEO of Everwise. "Our Day of Giving is a true reflection of our people-first culture, where our employees unite to create meaningful and lasting impact."
Across central Indiana, volunteers beautified neighborhood trails with Groundwork Indy, refreshed office space at Indiana Women in Need Foundation, stocked shelves at St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, assembled fleece blankets for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana and sorted school supplies for Teacher's Treasures. In Greencastle, volunteers partnered with Main Street Greencastle to hang Christmas lights and help prepare the community for the upcoming holiday season.
Meanwhile, in northern Indiana, teams packed care packages for deployed military members through Operation Quiet Comfort, helped prepare beds for children through Sleep in Heavenly Peace, supported food banks and assisted organizations focused on mental health, youth development, animal welfare and cancer support. In South Bend, volunteers served alongside organizations including Cultivate Culinary Food Rescue, La Casa de Amistad, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana, Pet Refuge, A Rosie Place for Children and the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
Southwest Michigan employees stocked food pantry shelves, completed clean-up projects at Fernwood Botanical Garden and supported animal care efforts at Paws for Humanity Animal Sanctuary. Teams in northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area packed food, sorted donations, prepared holiday gifts and supported organizations serving families, individuals with disabilities and survivors of domestic violence. In southern Indiana, employees partnered with Family Ark to support children and families through a variety of indoor and outdoor service projects.
Throughout the day, employees painted, landscaped, cleaned, organized donations, stocked shelves, assembled care packages, created blankets and completed countless projects that will help local nonprofit organizations continue serving their communities.
The annual Day of Giving reflects Everwise's commitment to the credit union philosophy of people helping people. By dedicating a full day to service, employees helped support dozens of nonprofit organizations working to improve quality of life throughout the communities Everwise serves.
As Everwise continues its mission of helping people reach their financial goals, it remains equally committed to strengthening the communities where members, employees and neighbors live, work and thrive.
