Standing Together for Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast cancer awareness event

Everwise stands with our communities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor survivors, support those currently undergoing treatment, remember loved ones lost, and raise awareness about the importance of early detection, education and community support.

At Everwise, we believe strong communities are built by showing up for one another during life's most challenging moments. Throughout October, you'll notice touches of pink across portions of our website as we join individuals, families, healthcare organizations, nonprofits and advocates across Indiana and southwest Michigan in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

While the color pink may be a visible symbol of awareness, this month is ultimately about people.

Breast cancer impacts thousands of individuals and families every year. Beyond the medical journey, many people face financial, emotional and practical challenges that can affect every aspect of daily life. For those navigating treatment, support from family, friends, employers, neighbors and community organizations can make a meaningful difference.

As a community-focused credit union, Everwise is committed to supporting organizations that help individuals and families overcome those challenges. One steadfast partner is the Indiana Women in Need (IWIN) Foundation, which provides direct assistance to Hoosiers undergoing active breast cancer treatment. Earlier this year, Everwise served as presenting sponsor of the annual Pink Soirée, helping raise more than $136,000 to support individuals across Indiana who are facing breast cancer.

The event brought together survivors, caregivers, advocates, volunteers, nonprofit leaders and community supporters with a shared goal: ensuring no one has to face a breast cancer diagnosis alone. The funds raised are expected to help approximately 245 Hoosiers undergoing treatment.

For Everwise, supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about more than a single event or partnership. It is about recognizing the strength and resilience of those affected by breast cancer and helping create communities where support is available when it is needed most.

Throughout October, Everwise will share additional stories, partnerships, volunteer efforts and community initiatives connected to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These updates will highlight organizations and individuals who are making a difference while helping raise awareness of resources available to those impacted by breast cancer.

We invite our members, employees and community partners to join us this month in recognizing survivors, supporting patients and families, and celebrating the organizations that work every day to provide hope, care and assistance.

Together, we can help ensure that no one walks this journey alone.
