Don’t get caught in a bank scam.
Have you received an email, text, or phone call about potential fraud on your bank account? Stay calm and keep these key things in mind before taking action.
1) Everwise will never contact you to ask for your personal information.
This includes your account or card information, secure access code, PIN number, online banking username/password, or other account IDs, such as your Google or Apple ID. Solicitations for such sensitive information should raise an immediate red flag.
2) Always double check the web address and email address of any communication you receive.
Everwise’s website is www.everwisecu.com, and email addresses should end with @everwisecu.com. If there is an error with any of the information, it is most likely a scam.
3) Don't trust anyone who contacts you about fraudulent or suspicious activity on your Everwise accounts unless you’ve verified the contact.
Fraud alert messages from Everwise will simply ask you to reply Y or N to confirm charges. These messages may be sent via SMS (text), voice message, or email to determine if you authorized the transaction.
If you receive a request asking for any personal or identifying information via these channels, please DO NOT respond. If you aren’t certain whether the message is authentic, call the phone number on the back of your card, contact us directly, or visit your local branch in-person.
4) Stay calm and slow down.
Don't take any urgent steps until you’ve spoken with an Everwise representative directly.
Remember to regularly review your contact information on file with Everwise to ensure it is up to date and accurate.
Fraudsters may attempt to change your contact information before committing fraudulent transactions. You can easily review your contact information on our mobile and online banking platform by going to the menu in the top-right corner of the home screen and selecting "Profile." Note: International addresses can only be added by contacting Everwise Member Services at (800) 552-4745.
