Celebrating the women who lead, inspire, and shape Everwise
Every day — and especially during moments of recognition like International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month — Everwise celebrates the women who lead with purpose, inspire with vision, and strengthen our communities through their dedication. Their impact is woven into our past, present, and future, and their contributions continue to shape the credit union we are proud to be today.
Walk into almost any Everwise branch, office, or meeting and you’ll see it in action — women solving problems, supporting members, mentoring teammates, and helping move our organization forward.
Their impact is part of our past, present, and future, and continues to shape the credit union we’re proud to be today.
A legacy built by women
Women have played a defining role in Everwise from the very beginning. Female leadership has been foundational to Everwise from the very beginning. Our story began in 1931, when a small group of teachers banded together to create a credit union during the challenges of the Great Depression. At the forefront was Alice Craft, an elementary school teacher who became our very first member.
Of the eight charter signers who helped bring Everwise to life, six were women — a powerful reflection of the role women would continue to play throughout the next 90+ years of growth. Their courage and commitment laid the foundation for the inclusive, people‑first institution we are today.

That pioneering spirit is something we continue to honor, protect, and build upon.
